Parkdale Project Read
If you'd like to support a great community-based adult literacy group take a look at the website for Parkdale Project Read. It's based in the west-end of Toronto (Parkdale) and this year celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Right now I'm on the Board of Directors so I've learned a lot about the organization but most importantly learned about the crucial need for these sorts of literacy programs.
Parkdale Read is moving to a new, much better space that will be much more conducive to learning and a much better place for the staff to work.
If you'd like to make a donation and help us make the space completely wheelcair accessible it's easy to do online -- just go to the website and scroll down a bit. You'll be helping a lot of people.
Now here's a small incentive -- if you can make a contribution of $30.00 or more I'll send you one of my books (they're all described below). If you'd like I'll also thank you in the blog.
